Zero Pressure Washing
How it works...
After you make contact with RTT and book the treatment.

We begin by diverting any water tanks from the home to a safe place

We then clean the gutters if necessary.

We make sure all pets are inside, windows are closed and clothes are not on the clothesline

Depending on accessibility we may set up EWP or roofing anchors
-
Then, using our high flow pumps we begin to spray the whole surface of the roof, using the treatment

We do not recommend reconnecting tank water, until 36mm of rain.

We will reconnect the tank upon request.​

What makes our roof cleaning solution better than all the rest?
The chemical that does all the work:

Is non-acidic

This means that the solution will not damage any surface.

Bluescope (Colorbond) recommends the use of sodium hypochlorite (bleach) to clean the roof surface. We went a step further and found a chemical that cleans without any possibility of damage to the roof!

The chemical solution can be used to clean any roof type including colourbond, tiles, laserlite, solar panels, decra, shade cloth, and much more!

Zero Pressure Washing? Almost...
We do not believe in pressure washing roofs
​
This is why:
From the day of installation, the sun oxidises the paint on the roof, this oxidised layer protects the layers beneath it. But when you pressure wash you completely remove this layer, then the sun oxidises the paint, this cycle repeats until there is no more paint!
When it comes to tile roofs we don't pressure wash these...
This is why:
High risk of water ingress (water leaking into the home or building), damage to pointing, mortar and to the tiles themselves.​​

But we do pressure wash roofs for one reason.
To prepare the surface for painting.
If you are looking to paint your roof, then a treatment is not for you. This is because to paint a roof it must be free from all oxidation, grime, growth and dirt.
A treatment will only kill and loosen the organics.

Here is an example of a roof getting pressure washed before painting, you can see that the roof is on its final layers of paint. The more you pressure wash your roof the sooner it will need a repaint.
Results
The process of Roof Treatments is not instantaneous.
However, the results are well worth the wait as it does not damage the roof like methods that bring an instant result.
It can take between 6-18 months for the lichen to full break down.
After application for the first 3 months you will notice the growths turning yellow or brown. They should also begin to flake from the surface.
Between 3 to 12 months, this is the time that lichen begins to fall off the surface.
Between 12-18 there should only be a small amount of lichen remaining on the surface. At this time you should be able to tell what is still living and what is not.
If there is any growth still alive on the surface within 3 years of application, we will spot treat the surface free of charge as per our 3 year guarantee.
3 Year Guarantee
If there is any remaining growth (lichen, mould, algae, and moss) on the surface between the 1st year to the 3rd year after application we will spot spray the roof at absolutely no charge to you!
Treatments as part of a Maintenance Program
For those who just want to keep their roof clean, we can put you on our maintenance program.
For every year after the initial treatment we inspect your roof to make sure that your roof is being kept in good condition, suggest repairs and retreat the roof. These inspections come at no charge to you.

In most cases, we apply the chemicals from the ladder.​​

On some occasions, it may be necessary to apply from the ridge cap.

Any applications from the ridge cap are done by use of harness.

In these situation a second technician or spotter will be present.

If needed, we will apply chemicals by use of EWP.
